22 Feb Mount Warning

With breath-taking views of Mt Warning from the heart of the bay, it’s no surprise many visitors take the trip out to hike the distant, uniquely shaped and alluring Mt Warning.

Approx. 1 Hour from Byron, situated just outside Wollongbar,  Mt. Warning, as it was named by Captain Cook, or Wollumbin as the Aboriginal community know it, is a spectacular hike offering panoramic views of the bay, The Tweed Valley and beyond.

Mt. Warning is the first place in Australia to see the sun each day, hence its fame for the Sunrise hike. Whether you attempt this 9Km hike at 3 am or at a more reasonable hour, this is a must for any adventurous folk, an impressive hike with a challenging rock scramble to finish.
